Today I was not productive at all! I was so tired and weak that all I did was make meals and watch tv. I am so sick and tired of being tired. I don’t know if it has anything to do with my heart problem or not. I have an appointment with a cardiologist next week so I guess I’ll find out then. Perhaps I just needed a day off?? I also managed to get the dishes done and vacuum the living room. So I guess it wasn’t as unproductive as I originally thought.
Blog
As part of my New Year’s Resolution’s I promised myself that I would write more in my blog rather than just posting pictures. I’ve been posting pictures of the kids so that my family can see how big they are getting and because I don’t know what to write. I guess you can say that I’ve had ‘writer’s block’.
I was listening to the radio yesterday when the weather person said that the over-night high was going to be -10!! Yes, you read that right NEGATIVE TEN DEGREES!! Holy Cow!! It sure was cold when Stevie went out to the bus this morning. The high’s today was 26 degrees. It was so warm the snow was melting and we didn’t need to use the heat in the car! I never thought that 26 degrees would feel warm to me!! It was so ‘warm’ that Stevie didn’t want to wear his jacket!! LOL I guess that’s what happens when you get so used to being in the single digits.
We are still trying to find ourselves in Maine. I’m not going to lie and say that the transition from the city to a small town has been easy. There is absolutely no work up here unless you travel 45 minutes to Lincoln or 1 hour to Bangor. With the winters the way they are I can’t imagine traveling. Its a good thing that Keith is able to create websites for those that need one. Its also a good thing that he can do this at night after he’s worked on the apartment upstairs.
The kids love it up here. Stevie LOVES his school, teacher’s and new friends. I love the support that he’s been getting. He is recieving speech and occupational therapy as well as extra help with reading/comprehension. He is still hard to understand however I notice a big difference in his speech.
Alexis and Trevor are beginning to be a handful. Trevor is at the ‘strange’ age. I don’t remember my other 2 going through this stage. He gets a big sad face and starts crying the minute someone tries talking to him. I had to take him to the doctor the other day for his second round of shots as well as an ear infection follow-up. The second he saw the doctor he started crying. He clawed the heck out of me when the doctor was trying to look in his ears. He was very upset when I had to lay him down on the table so the nurses could give him his shots. While I was getting him dressed he was pointing his finger at me and was yelling angerily at me. As we were walking out he stopped at the nurses station and pointed his finger at them and yelled, “TWO TWO TWO”! I used 1-2-3 Magic with the kids for discipline and I’ve been counting a lot for Alexis lately (terrible twos). HAHAHA

Precious Moments I Don’t Want to Forget
For some reason I can’t upload a picture…. The kids are beginning to grow up and I don’t want to forget these precious moments.
Stevie (age 5) – I love the way that you tell me you love me several times throughout the day. I love that you try to help your sister and brother even though they fight you. I look forward to each morning when you and Alexis ‘fight’ over which cartoon we are going to watch. It’s either “The Minnie Show” (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) or “Tome and Jerry”. I think its fantastic that your so excited about getting new glasses. I LOVE that you LOVE school and learning. I love all the artwork that you bring me home from school. I also love that you sing to me. I love that you enjoy the small things in life (coloring, balloons, playing in the snow, etc). I thinks its cute that you call ham, bacon. If I ask you if you want a ‘ham’ sandwich you will say no, however if I ask you if you want a ‘bacon’ sandwich you’ll say ‘yes’ even though its ‘ham’. I think its silly tha you like ‘vanilla ice cream with nothing on it’.
Alexis (age 2) – When your sweet your sweet, when your angry you are angry! I love how you put your arm around me when you sit on the chair with me. I think its cute when Trevor falls and you help him up and ask him, “Are you ok baby Trevor?”. I think its cute that you sleep with all your ‘babies’. I think its cute, even though I probably shouldn’t, when you get angry. You stomp your feet and make little fists and start yelling. You so small and your whole body tenses and I can just tell how frustrated your are. Its the cutest thing. I love that whenever Stevie says, “I love you.” to me and your around you respond with, “I do too mom.”.
Trevor (age 1) – You are now mobile. You used to spend hours in your room playing with your toys and now that your mobile being in your room is the last place you want to be. You’d much rather be out with everyone running around tearing apart my cabinets. Your favorite is the pots and pans. Boy, do you guys (Stevie, Alexis and yourself) make a lot of noise! I bet it sounds like beautiful music to you. I love ‘our’ time right before bed at night. I love that we have ‘conversations’ in the dark as you calm down for bed. I love that you hug me back when I hug you. I love that you pat my back when we hug. I love that your intersted in everything. You have a great relationship with your brother and sister. You have fun playing with Stevie and being silly. You like to play with Alexis’s ‘babies’ however you can only play with them when she isn’t looking otherwise she yells at you and takes them back. Sometimes I will see you playing with a ‘baby’ and you’ll throw it on the floor as if to say, “I wasn’t playing with a baby… nope you didn’t see me playing with a baby”.
Favorite Meal: Stevie – Hot Dogs and Beans, Alexis – Peanut Butter and Fluff, Trevor – Peanut Butter and Fluff
Favorite Snack: All 3 love Pretzel sticks dipped in honey mustard
Favorite TV Show: Stevie – Tom and Jerry, Alexis – Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Trevor – Jungle Junction
Typical Bedtime: 7:00PM
Favorite Toy: Stevie – Transformers Bumblebee that Nanny gave you for Christmas last year, Alexis – Minnie Mouse doll that Nanny gave you last year for Christmas, Trevor – anything that moves… cars, trains, etc.

Gratitude

My friend Angela challenged the visitors of her blog to come up with a list of 10 things that they are grateful for excluding the obvious things like family and friends, the gospel, etc. We were also given this challenge in Sunday school this past week however the challenge was to come up with 5 things. I had a very difficult time coming up with 2, perhaps it’s because I don’t have many earthly possessions that I cherish as much as my family? Here is my list in no particular order.
1. My bed – There is nothing like having a big comfy bed to sleep in when the day ends. Around 11AM is when I start dreaming of a little cat nap however with 2 babies cat naps are no longer part of my life.
2. Washing machine – I can live without a dryer. Sure! A dryer would make life easier however can you imagine washing and wringing out clothes by hand?
3. Double Stroller – makes life SO much easier with 2 babies. I couldn’t imagine carrying them both around everywhere when they were small. It still comes in handy even though they are both mobile.
4. Car – Even though I live in a town where I can walk everywhere its nice having the car for long distance trips. Without a car I wouldn’t be able to get to church each Sunday.
5. Geneology – I am so grateful for the research that I have done. I hope to one day put together a book for my brother and sister with all the details of our geneology. I still have a lot of work yet to do.
6. Phone – It’s nice to be able to stay in touch with loved ones.
7. Computer – without it I wouldn’t be able to stay in touch with friends and family nor would I get as much geneology research done.
8. 6:30PM – Story Time. This is my opportunity to connect with Stevie. We snuggle in the chair in his room and read for 30 minutes before bedtime. Alexis and Trevor listen as we read.
9. Arm & Hammer – ANYTHING Arm & Hammer makes my life smell better. I LOVE their laundry detergent (Orchard Bloom)! My clothes come out smelling so GOOD! The clothes make my closet smell so good! Their carpet sprinkle is FANTABULOUS!! I recently fell in love with their vacuum cleaner filters and powder!! I love Arm & Hammer almost as much as I love APPLE! =)
10. Books - all kinds of books. I love to be swept away by a book. =)
So… that’s it. My list of 10 things I am grateful for.
p.s. I borrowed the image from Angela’s blog. =) Thanks Ang…. =)

So sweet….
I put my infant car seat in the kids room for Alexis to use with her babies. Trevor thinks I put in there for him.

My Big Boy!
Stevie went for his 5 year well check. He weighs 44lbs and is a little over 3 1/2 ft. tall. We are going to bring him to a pediatric ophthalmologist to have his eyes checked again. The school is also going to have an occupational evaluation done. They noticed that he has a hard time holding a pencil and when he writes he shakes. I haven’t noticed a problem at home.
